Discuss rules
Discuss is where parents near each other talk. Signed-in parents see posts from within the distance they choose, 10 km to start with.
Welcome
- Questions about places, sessions, services and life with a baby.
- Tips, and heads-ups such as a closed playground or a busy car park.
- Giving things away for free.
- Meeting up with other parents. Meet in a public place.
- A link, once your account has been around a few days, when it helps other parents.
Not allowed
- Selling, or asking for money of any kind. Free things only.
- Advertising or promoting a business, class or service, including your own.
- Being unkind, insulting or threatening, or talking about someone in a way that could harm them.
- Anything that could put a child or parent at risk, such as asking strangers for photos of children.
- Anyone's private details, such as a phone number, email or home address.
- Health advice that could harm a baby. Ask your GP, child and family health nurse or pharmacist.
How posts are checked
- Posts and comments from new accounts are read by an automated checker before others see them, usually within a minute or two. Anything it is unsure about waits for a person.
- Once your account has been around a few days and has a few posts or comments shown, what you write shows straight away and is checked just after.
- Anything with a phone number or email address waits for a person.
- If two parents report a post or comment, it comes down until it is checked again.
- We can stop an account from posting if it keeps breaking these rules.
Your privacy
- Others see the name you choose, or "A parent nearby" when you post without it. We still know who wrote it.
- A post is placed at the suburb you have chosen in Pram Pass. Others see that suburb and a rough distance, never your exact spot.
- Blocking someone hides their posts and comments from you, and yours from them.
- You can delete your posts and comments at any time. Deleting your account deletes them all.
